The University of Arizona Hillenbrand Aquatic Center diving facility, officially completed in the first quarter of 2009, is a best in class facility featuring state-of-the-art construction and technology. Built to specifications that meet and exceed the requirements of world class events, the UofA facility provides an outstanding training and competition venue for a wide range of athletes and future champions.

Diving Well

Centered over nearly 9000 square feet of water, the concrete constructed platform tower and springboards are among the best the sport has to offer. At 25Meters by 33Meters by 17 feet deep throughout, the well holds 1.2 million gallons of heated water - allowing for great flexibility in training and competition. A high volume air sparging system provides a soft landing under all platforms and two of the 3-meter springboards. Adjoining the well are hot showers and a 20’x8’ heated spa. The nearby dry-land workout area provides three large overhard spotting rigs

Platform and Springboards

Two 1-meter and three 3-meter concrete short-stand mounted Maxiflex springboards line either side of the 20 foot wide by 40 foot tall concrete tower. The four platforms are surfaced with Rough-Tex for maximum traction and have the following dimensions:

  •  10-meter - 12 feet wide

  •  5-meter - 10 feet wide

  •  7.5-meter - 8 feet wide

  •  3-meter - 8 feet wide

Scoring and Video

Judging, scoring, and video replay capability for all diving locations is provided by a 90 square foot high resolution Colorado Timing computerized electronic scoreboard viewable up to 240 feet away. The Colorado Timing scoring system features remote judging boxes and direct software interface with divemeets.com for real-time capture and storage of competition information.
